About This Guide

Netball, basketball, volleyball, and other indoor/court sports have different seasonal structures, competition formats, and fee models compared to outdoor field sports. This guide covers setup patterns specific to these sports.

Netball tip: Junior grades use "& Under" (15 & Under, 13 & Under) while some codes use "Under 15" — use whatever your association uses in their fixture lists to avoid confusion during your league platform/CSV matching.

Netball Fee Configuration

Netball match fees are typically lower than AFL/cricket given the shorter time commitment:

Multiple Fixtures on Same Day (Split Rounds)

Netball often runs morning and afternoon fixtures on the same Saturday. Each is a separate fixture in GoClubPro:

• A Grade: 8:30am
• B Grade: 9:30am
• C Grade: 11:00am

Each appears as a separate line in the Schedule. Members can RSVP to each independently.

Multi-grade players: Some experienced players play in both B Grade and A Grade on the same day. Assign them to both teams. They'll receive two selection notifications if selected for both fixtures.

Match fee handling: Two fixtures = two potential match fees. If your club charges for both, this is correct. If policy is "only charge once per Saturday regardless of how many grades played," Treasurer must manually waive the second match fee.

Regrading Mid-Season

Netball competitions sometimes regrade teams mid-season (moving from B to A Grade or vice versa). This affects GoClubPro:

1. Admin Panel → Seasons & Competitions → edit the competition name if the grade changes (e.g., rename "B Grade" to "A Grade" for the team)
2. Update the fee configuration if the new grade has different fees
3. New fixtures will sync via your league platform with the updated grade name

Match fees for regraded fixtures: When a team moves up to A Grade, the A Grade match fee applies from that point forward. Past fixtures retain their original fee.

Umpire Fee Handling

Some netball associations charge clubs for umpires separately from competition levies. Options:

1. Association bills your club: Appears in Treasurer → Bills. No member impact.
2. Club charges members: Add an "Umpire Levy" as a custom fee type in the ledger (manual entry)
3. Included in match fee: Incorporate umpire cost into the match fee you set

Most clubs use option 1 or 3. Contact your state netball association for your specific arrangement.

SECTION B: BASKETBALL

Basketball Court Fee Model

Many basketball competitions charge a flat "court fee" per player per game, paid directly to the competition centre (not to the club). In this model:

• Club uses GoClubPro for member management, communication, and squad selection
• Court fees are managed externally (at the stadium/competition level)
• Match fee in GoClubPro: $0 (the court fee is paid directly, not through the club)
• Registration fee: charged by the club for uniform, insurance, admin

If your club collects court fees on behalf of members (less common):

• Set match fee = court fee amount
• Members pay through GoClubPro → club collects → club pays court in bulk

Basketball Multiple "Gigs" / Comp Periods

Basketball often runs multiple competition periods in one year (e.g., Summer Comp Sept–Nov, Winter Comp March–July). Treat each as a separate season:

Fixture Import for Basketball

Most basketball competitions in Australia are run by private competition centres (Basketball Victoria, various stadium operators) and don't use your league platform. Options:

1. Manual fixture entry: Admin Panel → Schedule → Add Fixture (one by one — feasible for 12–18 round seasons)
2. CSV import: Ask the competition centre for a fixture schedule CSV. Format varies — check column mapping before importing.
3. No import: Some basketball clubs simply share the draw via Noticeboard and don't import fixtures into GoClubPro at all — they use GoClubPro mainly for member management and payments.

SECTION C: VOLLEYBALL

Volleyball-Specific Notes

Volleyball closely mirrors netball in structure. Key differences:

• Format: Often pool play + finals same night (competition centres)
• Sets not matches: Volleyball is scored in sets/games, not a single result. Record the overall match result (Win/Loss) in GoClubPro.
• Mixed teams: Many volleyball competitions are mixed gender. Create one team per mixed squad — no gender-separated competitions needed unless your club runs separate ones.
• Smaller squads: 6 on court, typically 8–10 squad members. Squad Builder minimum player count may need to be configured lower than default.

SECTION D: INDOOR SOCCER

Indoor Soccer Structure

Indoor soccer often runs year-round with different "seasons" being consecutive competition periods. The club may field the same team without a formal break.

Recommended setup:

• Create a new Season for each calendar year (or each competition period)
• Keep team assignments — but remember they don't carry over automatically; re-assign each season

Floor vs turf facilities: If your club plays at multiple venues across the week (e.g., training at outdoor ground, matches at indoor stadium), both locations can be captured at the fixture level when entering manually.

SECTION E: MULTI-SPORT INDOOR CLUBS

Some recreation centres run multiple indoor sports under one club umbrella. GoClubPro handles this within a single club:

FAQ

Q: Our netball club runs "Come and Try" sessions for beginners that aren't part of the competition. How do we handle these? A: Create a separate Competition called "Come and Try" with $0 match fee. Add participants as members (Player role) and assign to a "Come and Try Team." Schedule sessions manually as fixtures. This tracks attendance without generating fees.

Q: Basketball players pay the stadium directly. Do we still need GoClubPro? A: Many basketball clubs still use it for member management (roster, communication, squad selection) even with $0 match fees. The admin and communication features work independently of the payment features.

Q: Our volleyball club doesn't track results — we just play for fun. Do we need to record match results? A: No — result recording is optional. You can use GoClubPro purely for scheduling, RSVP, and communication without tracking outcomes.
