2. Simple Explanation (Beginners)
The Noticeboard is your club's digital notice board — the place where your club shares important announcements, and where members can respond, comment, or react.
Think of it like a group chat that stays organised. Admins post announcements at the top, and members can engage by commenting or liking. The Alerts tab is your personal notifications inbox — it tells you about things that affect you specifically (your payments, your squad selection, changes to your fixtures).
3. Advanced Explanation (Power Users)
Post types:
- Broadcast post: Created by Admins — club-wide or team-specific visibility. Pinned at the top if marked as priority.
- Member post: Regular members can post to the general feed (if your club allows this — configurable by admin).
- System alerts: Auto-generated by the platform (fixture changes, payment reminders, selection notifications) — visible only in the Alerts tab, not the Noticeboard.
Two-tab architecture:
- Noticeboard tab: Human-authored posts and comments. Social/community layer.
- Alerts tab: System-generated notifications. Operational layer. These are separate streams — keeping them separate prevents operational alerts from getting buried in social content.
Notification delivery channels:
- In-app (Alerts tab badge)
- Push notifications (if enabled in browser/device settings)
- Email notifications (configurable per-user in Profile → Notification Preferences)
Reporting workflow:
- Reports are submitted by members → appear in Admin Panel → Reported Content.
- Admins can: remove the post/comment, warn the user, or dismiss the report.
- The reporting member is not identified to the content author.
- Repeated offenses (tracked admin-side) can result in role change or removal.
Comment threading: Comments on posts support one level of nesting (reply to a comment). Deep threading is not supported — keeps discussions manageable.
Feed client real-time updates: The Noticeboard uses a live client — new posts and comments appear without requiring a page refresh.

6. FAQ — Noticeboard & Feed
Q: Can any member post to the Noticeboard? A: This depends on your club's configuration. Some clubs allow all members to post; others restrict posting to admins only. If you can't see a "New Post" button, posting is restricted for your role.
Q: I'm not getting push notifications for Noticeboard updates. A: Check that you've allowed notifications in your browser or device settings. Also check your Notification Preferences in your Player Profile to ensure Noticeboard alerts are enabled.
Q: How do I see only announcements from my team? A: Admin posts can be filtered by team. Look for a team filter on the Noticeboard — if your club uses team-specific posts, you'll see a dropdown.
Q: I reported a post — when will it be reviewed? A: Club Admins receive a notification immediately. They typically review within 24–48 hours. You'll see the post removed if they act on the report.
Q: Can I delete my own comment? A: Yes — click the ... menu on your own comment and select Delete. Note: you cannot delete others' comments; only admins can do that.
Q: What's the difference between the Noticeboard and Alerts? A: Noticeboard = human-authored content (posts, comments). Alerts = automatic system notifications (your payments, your squad, your fixtures). They're separate tabs to keep social content from drowning out operational notifications.
Q: I missed an important announcement. Where can I find past posts? A: Scroll down the Noticeboard — posts don't expire. For urgent announcements, ask your admin to pin the post.
7. Common Mistakes & How to Avoid Them
| Mistake | What Happens | How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Posting sensitive information (e.g., personal details, scores disputes) | Visible to all club members; privacy risk | Think before posting — use direct contact for sensitive matters |
| Not checking the Alerts tab | Missing important fixture changes or payment reminders | Make Alerts tab part of your daily check-in habit |
| Ignoring unread alert badges | Accumulation of unread notifications; missed deadlines | Clear alerts regularly — click to acknowledge each one |
| Reporting posts frivolously | Wastes admin time; can affect club culture | Only report genuine violations (inappropriate, spam, harassment) |
| Admins broadcasting too frequently | Notification fatigue; members start ignoring messages | Reserve broadcasts for genuinely important updates |
| Posting team selection debate on the Noticeboard | Public conflict; uncomfortable for all members | Selection disagreements should go via direct message to coach |
8. Short Onboarding Script
Noticeboard — Stay Connected With Your Club
Two tabs to know:
- Noticeboard — club announcements and member discussions. Like and comment on posts.
- Alerts — your personal notification inbox. Check here for payment reminders, squad updates, and fixture changes.
New posts and alerts appear in real time — no refresh needed.
9. Long Training Guide
The Role of the Noticeboard in Club Culture
The Noticeboard serves multiple communication purposes:
- Information distribution: Admins broadcast important updates (fixture changes, venue updates, event announcements).
- Community engagement: Members celebrate wins, share updates, and build club culture.
- Acknowledgement: Likes and comments show active participation without requiring a response.
Best Practices for Admins Posting Announcements
Good broadcast content:
- Training cancellations or venue changes (time-sensitive)
- Season kick-off announcements
- Major event promotions (presentation night, fundraisers)
- Congratulatory posts (premiership wins, milestones)
Avoid broadcasting:
- Routine updates that could be handled via the Schedule page
- Internal administrative matters
- Selection announcements (these are handled automatically via the Squad Builder)
- Anything requiring a response — the Noticeboard is not a two-way direct messaging system
Alert Types and What They Mean
| Alert Type | What Triggered It | Action Required |
|---|---|---|
| Payment reminder | Fee has been outstanding for X days | Go to Payments and pay |
| Squad confirmation | Coach confirmed squad for a fixture | Check your Schedule; note the fixture |
| Fixture update | Admin changed time/location of a fixture | Review new fixture details on Schedule |
| Comment reply | Someone replied to your comment | Engage with the reply if appropriate |
| Join request approved | Admin approved your club join request | No action required — you now have access |
| MFA setup required | Admin has enabled mandatory MFA | Go to Profile → Security and set up MFA |
Notification Preferences
Each user can configure how they receive notifications:
- Go to Player Profile → Notification Preferences.
- Toggle each notification type:
- Payment reminders (email / in-app / push)
- Squad selection (in-app / push)
- Noticeboard posts (in-app only — email not recommended for high-volume clubs)
- Comment replies (in-app)
- Save preferences.
Admins cannot override individual members' notification preferences — but they can set system defaults.
