The Fines module (if enabled by your club) manages club discipline and accountability in a transparent, peer-driven way. Users need to understand:

1. Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Viewing Your Fines

1. Click Fines in the navigation.
2. You'll see your personal fine history:

• Pending fines (not yet voted on or approved)
• Approved fines (confirmed and added to your balance)
• Paid fines (settled)
• Rejected fines (dismissed by vote/admin)

3. Each fine shows: reason, amount, who submitted it, and current status.

Submitting a Fine Against a Member

1. On the Fines page, click Submit Fine.
2. Select the member from the dropdown.
3. Enter:

• Reason/description (e.g., "Late to training", "Forgot the team kit")
• Amount (or select from preset fine amounts if configured)

4. Click Submit — the fine enters the Pending state awaiting vote.

Voting on a Fine

1. On the Fines page, you'll see a Pending Fines section.
2. Each pending fine shows the accused member, reason, and amount.
3. Click Guilty or Not Guilty to cast your vote.
4. Once voting closes (based on configured voting period), the majority outcome is applied:

• Majority Guilty → fine is approved and added to the member's balance
• Majority Not Guilty → fine is rejected; member owes nothing

Viewing the Fines Leaderboard

1. On the Fines page, click the Leaderboard tab.
2. You'll see a ranking of all members by:

• Total fines issued this season
• Total amount fined
• Paid vs. outstanding balance

3. This is a light-hearted accountability tool — use it in the spirit it's intended.

Clearing a Fine

1. When a fine is approved, it appears in your Fines section and your dashboard.
2. Since fines are purely for fun and team-building, no real money is collected or charged — no payment is processed at all.
3. You can clear the fine in the app by clicking Pay Fine / Clear, which instantly marks it as settled/paid in the ledger.

The Fines system is a fun but structured way for clubs to enforce accountability — like a kangaroo court. When a member does something worthy of a fine (being late, forgetting kit, missing training), anyone can submit a fine. The club then votes on whether it should stick.

If the vote passes, the fine is added to that member's virtual ledger. It's all done in the app transparently — everyone can see what's been fined and how the vote went. Fines are purely virtual and for fun; they are never actually collected as real-world money.

Privacy: Fine submissions and votes are visible to all club members by default. Some clubs prefer this transparency; others prefer admin-only visibility. This is configurable by the Club Admin.

Q: Can I vote on my own fine? A: No — you cannot vote on a fine submitted against you.

Q: How long does voting last? A: Voting duration is configured by your Club Admin (typically 24–72 hours). Check the "Voting closes in..." countdown on each pending fine.

Q: What happens if not enough members vote? A: If voting falls below the configured quorum, the result may be voided or defaulted to "Not Guilty" — depending on your club's settings. Ask your admin if you're unsure of your club's quorum rules.

Q: Is the fines system only for fun, or do I actually have to pay? A: Approved fines create real payment obligations — they appear in your Payments section and are tracked by the Treasurer. Take them seriously, but remember the spirit is accountability and team culture.
