The Dashboard is the first screen users see after logging in. Because GoClubPro serves multiple roles, the Dashboard adapts its content to each user. Users need to understand:

• What their Dashboard shows and why
• How to read the "This Week" briefing
• How to navigate from the Dashboard to key actions
• How the Dashboard differs by role
• How to switch clubs or roles from this screen

1. Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Navigating Your Dashboard (All Roles)

1. After logging in, you land automatically on your Dashboard (/).
2. At the top you'll see a sport-themed hero banner with your club name and branding.
3. Below that is your "This Week" briefing — a quick summary of what matters right now:

• Next upcoming fixture/training (with time and location)
• Outstanding payments owed (if any)
• Action items specific to your role

4. Scroll down to see role-specific cards (see per-role details below).
5. At the bottom (or side on desktop) is the navigation bar to access other sections.

Accessing a Quick Action from Dashboard

1. Identify the card or button representing the action (e.g., "Upcoming RSVP").
2. Click the card — you'll be taken directly to the relevant section.
3. To return to the Dashboard, click Home in the navigation.

2. Simple Explanation (Beginners)

The Dashboard is your personalised home base. Think of it like a notice board at your club — it shows you the most important things happening right now, filtered to what's relevant to your job in the club.

A player sees their next match and what they owe. A coach sees which players are available and which fixtures still need a squad. A treasurer sees how much money has been collected. You only see what you need.

3. Advanced Explanation (Power Users)

Data aggregation: The Dashboard fetches real-time data from multiple modules simultaneously (fixtures, payments, selections, member counts). This means it reflects the current state of your club — there's no need to manually refresh.

Role priority logic: Each role has a defined hierarchy of priorities displayed in the "This Week" block. For example:

• Club Admin: Member requests, upcoming fixtures, unpaid fee balance
• Treasurer: Revenue collected this week, pending expense claims, outstanding aging debts
• Coach/Selector: Fixtures with incomplete squad selection, player availability summary
• Player: Next RSVP required, outstanding dues (match fees + registration)
• Parent: Consolidated view of all children's upcoming fixtures and dues

Context switcher: If you belong to multiple clubs or hold multiple roles, the club/role chip in the top navigation lets you switch context without logging out. The Dashboard refreshes to show data for the newly selected club/role.

Mobile quick-access grid: On mobile, below the This Week section is a 2×N grid of icon buttons for the most-used actions in your role. These are role-specific shortcuts — not all buttons appear for all roles.

Notification badges: Red badge counts on nav items (e.g., Payments, Feed) reflect unread or outstanding items. These update in real time as other users take actions.

Q: My Dashboard looks different from a teammate's. Is something wrong? A: No — the Dashboard is personalised to your role. A player and a coach see different cards because their responsibilities differ.

Q: How do I change which club I see on my Dashboard? A: Click the club name chip at the top of the screen (or in the mobile drawer under "More"). This opens a context switcher listing all your clubs and roles.

Q: The "This Week" section shows outdated information. A: The Dashboard loads fresh data on each visit. If you're seeing stale data, hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+R / ⌘+R). If the problem persists, contact your Club Admin.

Q: I'm a Coach but I only see a Player dashboard. A: Your role may not have been correctly assigned. Contact your Club Admin to verify your role in Admin Panel → Members & Roles.

Q: Can I customise what appears on my Dashboard? A: Dashboard cards are determined by your role and current club data — personalised layouts aren't available. Feature requests can be submitted via the Suggest Features link in the footer.

Q: What does the red badge number on the Payments nav item mean? A: It shows how many outstanding payment items you have (unpaid match fees + unpaid registration). Click Payments to see and resolve them.

Q: I'm a Parent — where do I see my children? A: Your Dashboard has a Family Hub section. Click any child's card to view their fixtures, dues, and profile. You can also switch to a child's context using the context switcher.

Q: Why is my club logo not showing? A: Club Admins can upload a logo in Settings → Club Details. If no logo is uploaded, the default sport icon appears instead.

Role Dashboards in Detail

Player Dashboard The Player Dashboard centres on two things: upcoming commitments and financial obligations.

• Upcoming RSVP list: Fixtures you've been selected for (or tentatively included in) where you haven't yet confirmed attendance. Each card shows fixture date, opponent, location, and cost.
• Unpaid dues breakdown: A clear split between outstanding match fees (per fixture) and registration fees (seasonal).
• Next training session: If your club logs training sessions, the next one appears with time and location.

Coach / Selector Dashboard Selection is the core workflow. The Dashboard surfaces selection gaps before they become problems.

• Fixtures needing squads: Any upcoming fixture without a confirmed squad appears here with a "Build Squad" CTA.
• Player availability summary: A count of available vs. unavailable players for the next fixture.
• Pending attendance RSVPs: How many selected players haven't confirmed yet.
• Attendance statistics: Historical RSVP reliability data.

Treasurer Dashboard The Treasurer Dashboard is a financial command centre.

• Revenue this week: Payments received in the last 7 days.
• Collection progress: Visual bars showing how much of the expected season revenue has been collected.
• Pending expense claims: Claims submitted by members awaiting approval.
• Aging summary: Members with long-overdue payments (30, 60, 90+ days).

Club Admin Dashboard Admins have an operational overview combining all the above with governance tasks.

• Member count: Total active members, pending join requests (with quick-approve buttons).
• Active fixtures this week: Upcoming fixtures with selection/squad status.
• Unpaid fee balance: Club-wide total outstanding across all members.
• System alerts: If any module is misconfigured (e.g., fees not set, bank account details missing), an alert appears here.

Parent Dashboard The Family Hub consolidates multiple children's data into one view.

• Children profile cards: Each child appears as a card with their next fixture, RSVP status, and outstanding dues.
• Consolidated payment view: Total owed across all children.
• Context switching: Click any child's card to switch into their full profile context.

Navigation From the Dashboard

The Dashboard is the hub — every feature is one click away. On desktop, the sidebar navigation is always visible. On mobile, the bottom bar provides the four most important sections, with all others accessible via the "More" drawer.

Key navigation targets from the Dashboard:

• Schedule → See all upcoming fixtures and training sessions
• Payments → Review and pay outstanding dues
• Selection Board → (Coach/Selector) Manage squad selections
• Treasurer → (Treasurer/Admin) Access financial management
• Admin Panel → (Admin) Manage members, seasons, and settings

The Context Switcher

If you belong to multiple clubs — common for league administrators, coaches who work across clubs, or parents with children at different clubs — the context switcher is essential.

To use it:

1. Click the club name chip (shown near the top of the navigation on desktop, or in the mobile drawer).
2. A panel shows all your club memberships with their associated roles.
3. Click any entry to switch context.
4. The Dashboard reloads with data for that club and role.

Your last-used context is remembered, so the next time you log in you'll land on the same club.
